Campbell's Outdoor Classroom Learning:

Campbell Elementary School's unique Wetlands and Outdoor Classroom incorporates sustainable gardening into its every day curriculum and teaches students the beneftis of making their surroundings more sustainable and environmentally friendly. The children get to use natural materials and experience how everything that comes out of the earch can go back to the earth.

What's next for this innovative school? A greenhouse to further extend hands-on learning:

Your donation will provide:  

• Seed starting materials, tools, and seed materials 
• A Palram Nature Series Mythos Hobby Greenhouse (6 x 8 x 7) 
• A field trip for one grade to visit the Career Center to investigate their exemplary existing greenhouse and state of the art gardening techniques. 
• A stipend for a community parent with gardening expertise to plan and execute lessons in the greenhouse

Your donation will help the children:  

• Provide addional hands-on outdoor learning hours for students
• Create exposure to the full life cycle of plants and vegetables
• Teach ecology and biology  learning opportunities
• Expand our students’ learning experience of science and math
• Allow experimentation with climate and physical factors and how they relate to growth

Campbell Elementary is a Title 1 Arlington County Public School located in South Arlington on Carlin Spring's Road. Our community is diverse, we embrace and respect our differences and are dedicated to enhancing our children through common goals that develop a strong community, strong value system and strong team skills.
