Everyone has a memory of third grade, don’t they? Whether it be the check tournament your class
had or the Laura Ingalls Wilder books your third grade teacher read aloud to
you, they are memories. As a teacher it
is important to give students’ chances to make memories, not just give them
paper and pencil work. This project
allows students to use 21st Century Skills to capture memories. Students will be put into groups of 3 to
create third grade photo memory books. They will take photos of anything and
everything, this could be the first snow fall or an activity at recess
time. Students will also have a chance
to edit the photos to get their creative juices flowing. The will edit these in different Chrome Web
Store apps such as Pixlr.
They will also write
about the photos they take. This helps
them enhance their writing skills needed to take the Nebraska State Writing
Assessment in 4th grade. They
will learn how to use descriptive words, not just awesome and nice like third
graders like to use. We will also post
some of the writing and pictures on the future Third Grade blog at
I tried uploading a video, but it would not upload.
